Business Class

You may be eligible to apply for Canadian permanent residence in the business class if you are an Investor, or Entrepreneur or Self‑ employed person.

Investors: If you wish to immigrate to Canada as an Investor, you must have business experience. This means that you must have managed a qualifying business and controlled a percentage of equity of the business for at minimum of two years in the period beginning five years immediately preceding the date of application and ending on the day a decision is made on your application. In the alternative, you must have managed at least five full-time job equivalents per year in a business for a minimum of two years in the period beginning five years before the date of your application and ending on the day a decision is made on your application.

You must have a minimum net worth of CAN $1.6 Million , and be willing to make an investment of CAN $800,000 which is payable to the Receiver General of Canada. This investment is passive, guaranteed risk free and will be repaid to you (without interest) after five years.

Investors are allowed to finance the investment of $800,000(CAD) with a minimum deposit of 220,000 (CAD) through a financial institution in Canada.

Entrepreneurs: If you wish to immigrate to Canada as an Entrepreneur, you must have business experience and a net worth of at least CAN $300,000. Additionally, you must have the intention and the ability to control at least 33 1/3% of the equity of a qualifying Canadian business and provide active and ongoing management of the business.

You must also create at least one full-time job equivalent for persons other than you and your family members. You will be required to meet certain conditions in order to retain your permanent residence status.

Self-employed persons: If you wish to immigrate to Canada as a Self-employed person, you must have the experience, intention and ability to establish a business that will generate employment for you and also make a significant contribution to cultural activities or athletics in Canada. In the alternative, you may purchase and manage a farm in Canada. To qualify, you must either have prior experience with being self-employed in cultural activities or athletics; or you must have participated at the world-class level, in cultural activities or athletics. In the alternative, you must have farm management experience.

In all 3 categories of business class immigrants, you must score at least 35 points on the business class assessment grid which will evaluate your education, age, work experience, language ability and other adaptability factors.
